Filling the Cracks

Hello, it's been awhile since I contributed to this space and I'm glad to see that we have a new addition to our team to breathe more life into the blog. 

Have you also noticed the different articles? Our founder has realised our probable lack of depth and has an exciting new vision for Beautifyus, so wait for it! 

On a more personal note, I have recently completed a course of study. This means that while I'm not looking for a job, attempting to do pilates and learning to knit, I will be working on this above-mentioned vision that has been entrusted onto me.






All that aside, what cracks are we trying to fill today? 

This image here, is what I often liken to the texture of my skin. A huge factor being that good ol' plain water is never the beverage of my choice (and I say this while enjoying myself a nice tall glass of coke). 

Dry skin has plagued me for awhile and even more so in the last couple years where I have enjoyed the dry climate of Straya. Obviously, having skin like this isn't the most appealing and I have tried a myriad of products to "fill the cracks" with little or no success. The promises on labels disappointing time and again. Moisturizers that claim to fix my skin while I sleep, or body washes that are deeply hydrating...However, there might be some fault on my part especially with moisturizers. Not applying them on every night, or following through with the recommended period till results are meant to be visible. Despite that, I'm happy to announce that I think I might finally have found a product that "cures".

While I've only been using this product for three days, I can already see its effects and am thrilled to share.

This time, I let a tv ad get to me and I'm glad it did. So I went out looking for this product and found it on special for 5 bucks at Big W. 

Since I've purchased it, I use it once a day. Unlike the moisturizer, it isn't an extra step to my beauty regime. Everyone showers daily (I choose to believe so) and this hassle free product is just what I needed! Apart from smelling really nice, the product has delivered what it promised. The dry sore I had on my arm is healing and the cracks on my legs are fading. I know that this product works for me as I am not using anything else on my skin since using the Nivea In-shower Rich Body Lotion.

A little reminder: we need to be mindful that we have different skin types and might react differently. However, trying this product is inexpensive and might just be able to fix your dry skin like it has mine.

Review on Etude House Aloe Moistfull Soap Paper

Hey pretties, i am back from Australia! Hope everything was great for you guys when i was away.
Speaking of traveling, today i have a product that i think it is useful and good to carry along when traveling. 

Introducing Etude House Aloe Moistfull Soap Paper

The packaging of Etude House Aloe Moistfull Soap Paper is rather cute as it is shaped in a water droplet container. But what surprised me was what was in the container :)

Inside it was lots of tiny soap papers shaped in water droplet. SO CUTE!!!  

To use this, just sprinkle water onto a piece of the tiny soap paper.

Once water is added onto the soap paper, just rub your hands like how you would clean your hands with normal soap.  Look how soapy my hand is with just a piece of the soap paper.  One piece of this paper is able to clean both your hands, and it contains aloe vera extract which is good for your skin.  

I find this product very convenient for travelling as it is light to carry around and it is dry when not in used. Unlike the normal liquid body foam which is heavy to carry out , and also how it leaks onto our bags and luggage if we did not close the bottle cap properly.
The other advantage of this product is that it contains more than 100 pieces of soap paper. So imagine how many times you can use this product!

February Bellabox 2013 - Valentine's day edition

Hey all, so chinese new year is over. How is your collection of Ang Pow? Ours was great!! More money means more spending on beauty products..Yahoo!! Haha 


So back to the topic, lets take a look into my February 2013 Bellabox

                             

This month's edition came in my favorite color, RED!!!  which was different from other months' bellabox as is usually in pink. But because this month's edition is to celebrate valentine's day. Red symbolizes LOVE <3

So this was what was inside when i open the box. Isn't the wrapper cute!!!  I tried to gently open the wrapper as i wanted to keep wrapper. However the wrapper was very fragile, the quality was even thinner than my toilet paper. Haha.. Ok, let's move on to see what products are in it.

1. Adonis Dermatox Anti-Toxin 70ml/$78

Description : The Adonis dermatox anti-toxin is aa purification solution to clear congested pores and remove toxins from within the skin. When applied, there would be a pungent smell due to the reaction between the product and the toxins in the skin which will reduce with frequent use. Suitable for all skin types.70ml/$78

Since young, Adonis was a company that was well-known for its slimming treatments on advertisements.  Later on in years, they have expand on to facial treatments. So i decided to try this product since it was is an established company. I have only tried this one, and i must say there wasn't any immediate effect. However, there was indeed a pungent smell but it was very minimal. Not that pungent. Does that mean i have very little toxin on my face?? haha

2. Adonis Herbal Peel Gel 80ml/$58

Description : With seven botanic ingredients, the Adonis Herbal Peel Gel exfoliates the skin gently to remove dead skin cells, revealing a brighter and smoother skin tone after use

I have  yet to try this, so i would try this out later and see how it goes.

3.  Avance Dou Dermaquillant Super 100ml / $28.90
Description:  Gentle on the delicate eye area, the Avance Dou Demaquillant Super is an effective eye makeup remover that cleans off waterproof makeup . The Chamomile extract and Trehalose gently moisturizes while smoothing the eye area.

I have 2 favorite products for this month edition, and this is one of them. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this!! It is so darn good. It works even better than the Chanel makeup removal that my sis have. Just pour this on a cotton wool, leave the cotton wool on to your eyes for 5 seconds, and then wipe it off. It doesn't even leave smudge marks of mascara and eye liner on my eyes. Also, it is really gentle and suitable for all skin type. I am  so going to purchase this product.

4. Lanvin Marry Me! 30ml/$76,  50ml/$108, 75ml/$136
Description: The Lanvin marry me was created with the intention to suggest the strong bond that women have with their perfume. With fruity top notes of bitter orange, Freesia and Peach, the Lanvin Marry me is a playful marriage of feminine and flirty.

This is my second favorite product. It suits me well and it smells very good. It really does have a fruity scent to it and does not have a trace of floral in it which is good. It is very different from my Hugo Boss perfume which is musky, but i like it as it still has a strong characteristic to it. The smell of a "powerful yet flirty" woman.. haha, my description is so weird! lol

5. Institut Du Karite Extra Gentle Body Milk 250 ml/ $33
Description: Highly valued for its rich moisturizing properties, the shea butter in the Institut du Karite Extra Gentle Body Milk is able to protect and nourish skin against environmental damage. Delicately scented, the extra Gentle Body Milk also provides essential vitamins for skin revitalization and elasticity and is suitable for all skin types.


I have seen this product many times before. But i have yet to try it, but i suppose it is good as many women own this product. 




So besides these products, i have also received complimentary vouchers to Adonis Facial Treatment. I am quite hesitant to make an appointment there as i am afraid of hard selling and i would not be able to resist it. So i guess i would give it a miss :( 
So overall conclusion of this month's bellabox, it was ok. But i am rather disappointed that the sample size for my 2 favorite product was really really tiny! Whether this month box was worth $19.90. I am not very sure. I would definitely love to receive OPI or makeup products though.

Impression Hollywood tape

Ladies, have you ever encounter days when you wear something sexy, but is afraid of having to expose your bra or breast ,therefore you have to keep adjusting your top/dress? Because i used to keep adjusting mine when i wear low cut tops or dresses. But don't worry, there is a solution to your problem.

Introducing: Impression Hollywood Tape

This item here is like a double sided tape, except that it formulated to stick on fabrics and our skin instead of paper. Lol.

It does stick to our skin and fabric, except that if you place it at a wrong position and wish to adjust it, the sticker might be ruin and lost part of its stickiness. Another thing would be this tape is not exactly adaptable to all fabrics. Certain fabrics can't really stick well to it. Lastly, do not allow water/sweat to touch it as again mention, stickiness would be slightly loss.

Other than that, this product works fine. Can't complain much since we are the ones who choose the clothes we wear and yet afraid of this and that.

Effectiveness:  4/ 5 stars. As this is the only product that is available in the market to solve this problem

Pricing: 3.5/5 stars. $13.90 for each box which contains 36 strips in it. This can be bought at all John Little departments.

Slim Spa: Slim & Detox Tea (Day 4)

Am i drinking it wrong?
Am i not suppose to consume food with the detox tea?

These two questions keep coming up. I don't really know how this detox tea is suppose to work but i don't feel any different. In fact i feel bloated, consuming so much liquid in the form of this green tea. That's all for the quick update!

Yes, the love handles really disappears when Elancyl is being used. It really does tone up the waist area ALOT! The waist area becomes much firmer in just 5 days instead of 14 days!! However, it does not really have an effect on the abdomen area :(

This product does not have a burning effect unlike other products, and has a pleasant smell to it. One application of it is able to last for a day and is recommended to be applied every morning. Also, instructions on how to stimulate the skin on our waist area before applying the product is given on the box.

Rating : 5/5 stars if you are targeting the waist area, however 3/5 stars you are targeting the stomach area.

Pricing: 2/5 stars as it is rather costly for a student like me as it is selling for SGD $72 for 75ml
