The Drawers of Wonders

Not too long ago I saw a Hello Kitty cosmetic box. The next time i went back to the shop it was gone. Before this i never knew most Hello Kitty things were one piece only. So i fell in love with another Hello Kitty cosmetics box. My hesitation this time around was because i couldn't justify spending over $120 on Hello Kitty. What a bad decision.

Ever since, i've been searching for a box to put all my make up and stuff and i ended up buying 2 sets of acrylic drawers from MUJI. The jewelry holder on the side is also from MUJI. Incase you're interested. The set of 5 drawers is about $29 and the set of 3 drawers cost $19. The jewelry holder is from $23-29. I don't really remember.

So anyways, I've categorized my in such a way from top down:
1st drawer: Face
2nd drawer: Eye shadows
3rd drawer: Palettes
4th drawer: Lashes
5th drawer: Pencils - all sorts
6th drawer: Gloss
7th drawer: Lip sticks
8th drawer: Lip sticks

I missed out a few things here and there so this doesn't really count as my entire collection. Hope it won't make a difference!

So in the first drawer....The very first thing i put on my face in the morning

Clinique's Pore Minimizer $45/ $55

Followed by Clinique's Age Defence BB Cream $45/$55
The price of the other two i mixed up but i know i spent exactly $100 on both.

Then, I have ZA's concealer which should be under $20. This is the tiny dark blue tube.

For powders, of course my favorite MAC Select Sheer Pressed Powder which is about $35-40

Also in there is Silkygirl's Blush from long ago, passed over from my sister and Body Shop's liquid blush, also from my sister.

I also keep a lot of samples because i often run out before remembering to buy my new supply and these come through for me in such emergencies.

I also bought the pink flower face sponge from F21 which cost only $2!

Next in drawers 2, 3 and 5 which I mixed around for the sake of a neater picture.

These are my least used and mostly given cosmetics. You can tell from this picture alone that i mostly stick to the make up i like. Apart from the E.L.F gel eyeshadow that i bought for like $1USD and the Silkygirl smoky eyeshadow for under $20, everything else was given.

The freebies include this crazy palette from some neighborhood shop which was less than $10. Honestly i've only started using this but it was bought about 3 years ago for a poly project. Also in there is a Maybelline eyeshadow that i got from my mom since i was in secondary school. I have two Loreal eyeshadows of the same shades. Samples given to me by my mom. In there is also my very first MAC product. The white eyeshadow that turns purple upon application. Given to me by my auntie. The palette i use on a daily basis is the one with the neutral shades given from my sister. I also have an Estee Lauder palette, a pink eyeshadow from Red Earth(now non-existent brand) and 2 shimmer powders.

Also in there are my brushes. The MAC was a gift, and the other two from mustafa's cosmetic section only around $3-$5?

For my pencils, starting from the left, its the tiniest black eyeliner from Watsons. I've sharpened away the brand but I'm going to keep it until it has no more lead. LOL. The next bunch of pencils were a birthday gift. It's from Sephora - Oh My Cherie.... i think. It has the cutest colors but reviews are for another day. The i have some freebies from Maybelline, my white eyeline from SASA, and three faceshop roll on glitters.

Drawer 4
I think this has to be the least cluttered drawer because i just threw out a whole bunch of mascaras and eyelashes. Here we have my latest favourvite lashes from Shu Uemura which was a birthday present. They're so dramatic and heavy, which is why i have to love them. Next to that is my daily lash. I buy these in bulk at far east plaza everytime i go. I do throw away lashes often because of the glue build up. Plus these are like  $3 - $4 per pair, so i can bear to part with them.

In the same drawer are my mascaras. The Chanel and MAC are presents and the Estee Lauders are samples that my grandmother passes to me in a pair every once in a while.

Drawer 6
Introducing the glosses. I use to hate applying anything on my lips, balm included. It was only when i was 18 that i realised the beauty of lipstick and gloss. Then again, i prefer lipstick over gloss base purely on how sticky gloss is. That really explains why every thing in this drawer was given.

In here i have MAC which was a gift, some type of pink balm that makes your lips look watery, Estee Lauder's plum smelling one, Clinique's double sided balm which is my favourite of the lot, This plain reddish one which i've had for so long that the brand has been rubbed off, and of course the L'occitane that i blogged about earlier. The flat clear one is from my first ever make up set from my auntie when i was in Primary school. Oh and on the picture to your right is this Red Earth pink lip liner. Anything Red Earth and you know it dates back to when we still called 2000 - THE NEW MILLENIUM.

Drawer 7 and a bit of 8
Superrrrrr excited to show this one. It's the only one thats actively growin, and by my own means.

I have the tiny cylinders which are the Kat Von D's collection for Sephora. A gift from my dear friend. Then, some brand called Fasio's, then Estee Lauder, then the Revlon ones. I lost the nude colour :(

I also have this red tube that i dont know where its from, the silver from clinique i think, then Sephora, Maybeline and Estee Lauder again. I also have a palette from Liz Claiborne which has the deepest shade of red that i love to put on.

and finally! in that mess i left out some of these. My Nivea balm, Estee Lauder palette and my pencil sharpener!

and that's everything in my drawers of cosmetics.

Sorry it was such a long read!

M.A.C Zoom Fast Black Lash- A61

As promised, a post on mascara. This was the first of two that i receievd for my birthday. So the price would be by my estimation again. I think it's in the $20 - lower $30s.

Firstly i need to declare, that i am a slave for M.A.C and this review will be slightly bias. My favourite colour is black and any brand like M.A.C that has it's packaging entire in my favourite colour, has my vote. As you all know, i have been using M.A.C's sheer pressed powder and Gel liner as my staples. Now that i have my hands on the mascara, my collection is one more step to completion.

I suffer from what is known as "i-am-very-chinese-and-have-no-lashes" syndrome. No doubt, there are the blessed few out there are also very chinese and have long lashes, no offense intended.

As you can see in the picture below, my lash from my left eye is peeking past my nose bridge. Incredible job. Not many mascaras have managed to curl and lengthen my lashes at the same time but this has.

Because M.A.C's zoom fast black lash has a brush with really tiny fibers, it succesfully gripped my teeny tiny hairs.
M.A.C
Okay la, because i have to preserve some integrity for this blog, the negative thing about this mascara is that it can really stain when you blink before allowing it enough time to dry. Still, don't we love most things because of the way it looks on the outside. Superficial world, i know.

Maybelline: Lash Stiletto® Ultimate Length Washable Mascara

Hi ladies, I'm back.. School has started,so i will be updating less frequently. But fret not, my sister will still be updating beautifyus!! :)

Long eyelashes, that's what most ladies in the world would like to have. Therefore that's when we will think of putting our fake eyelashes. However, those who are not so good in putting these falsies will be troubled over this matter. Some will even experience frustration when the lash glue doesn't stick and have to go around with lashes that sticks out oddly.

That's when  Maybelline: Lash Stiletto® Ultimate Length Washable Mascara is in handy!

As what the name of this product describes, it will make yourlashes like stiletto. With its easy application, your eyelashes would be very lonnnnngggg (at least thrice the effect of a normal mascara) and dark. Its mascara brush is also uniquely designed as it ensures that the lashes are "elongated" and also that the mascara does not make the lashes clump up together.

However, what i do not like about this mascara is that it is not easy to remove and wash. There will still be mascara on the lashes even when  i wash it twice (tried with both cold and hot water). There will be clumps when i touch it with water, and sometimes i even have to use my fingers to take the mascara goo out.

So, i guess there is really pro and cons to using mascara and false eyelashes.

Pricing : 3.5/5 stars. I can't really remember the price of it, but its definitely one of the most or should i say the most expensive mascara sold in watsons.

Effectiveness : 3/5 stars. I like the way it really elongates the length of my eyelashes as how it would look like if i were to put on fake eyelashes, however because of the troublesome and difficult removal i had to give it 3/5 stars.

Ok, i am done with today's review and hopefully i have time to update this blog more frequently.

Btw, Happy Hari Raya to everyone and enjoy the long holidays if you are staying in Singapore due to the replacement holiday!! Wonder who our viewers will vote for as our president.
