DIY Double eyelids : Double sided tape vs Eyelid glue

Most of the people whom are close to me should know by now that i am born with double eyelids. However, my double eyelids are uneven on both side of my eyes and they are not prominent and deep. I wasn't aware of it until a makeup artist started placing double eyelid tape on me when she did the makeup on me. And i realise having a deeper and more prominent eyelid really does make one eyes look bigger.
There are many ways to achieve double eyelids. Permanent way of achieving it would be having plastic surgery or temporary ways such as using double sided tape or eyelid glue.
Therefore today i shall review about the temporary ways and how they differ from one another, as well as how to achieve double eyelids. 

Step 1:  Place the double sided eyelid tape or eyelid glue right above your natural eyelids or even higher for a prominent double eyelid.

Step 2: Use the fork provided in the package for the tape or glue and press against the tape or glue to form the double eyelids.

Differences and impression: As you can see in picture 3, both ways are able to achieve the effect. However, at times the eyelid tape is visible and crumples too. Also, it can be quite painful at time when removing it. As for the eyelid glue, i love it as it is invisible, it looks much more natural  and it does not irritate my skin. However, when i use a makeup remover i am not sure whether i was able to completely remove the glue as it was invisible. But comparing to both methods, i would definitely opt for the glue rather than the tape although its costs slight more. Both products can be purchased at SASA.

Review on Avance Dou Demaquillant Super (Makeup Removal)

Its always nice to look beautiful with all the wonderful makeup applied on us, however most makeup products these days are water resistant and are difficult to remove with just a cleanser, wipes or water. Therefore makeup removal was invented, but many of it aren't as good as they claim to be. So today, i will be introducing a makeup removal that i have discovered and i am rather pleased with the results.

The Avance Dou Demaquillant Super is rather good when it comes to removing eye makeup. So lets take a look of how good it is.

This was the eye makeup on me that day. Notice the brown eyeshadow as well as the black eyeliner that was applied on my eye.

Next, i have douched a cotton wool with Avance Dou Demaquillant Super makeup removal .

Leave the cotton wool on your eyes for 5 seconds. ( No rubbing motion is needed)

And as you can see, almost all of my eye makeup is removed with just one application of it, except for a little brown eyeshadow at the corner of my eyes.  So over all, i am pretty please with this makeup removal. Its really gentle on the skin, does not cause irritation and removes the makeup effectively and fast. This removal is pretty affordable as it is less than $30 for 100ml. And  is definitely more effective than Biore makeup wipes. Trust me :)

DIY : Creating a fake bob (short hairdo)

I am sure many of us are sick of our hair length every now and then, and would like to do something drastic to it such as snipping it  from Rapunzel long hair to a pixie hair cut. But once you have made this decision to go through such drastic changes, at least 50% of us will regret it or miss our lovely long hair. So today, i will be doing a DIY tutorial on how to create a short bob without cutting your hair.

                                 
                                  So lets get started!

 

 

Step 1:  Gather the hair on the top of your head and tie it loosely

Step 2: Gather the hair on the bottom of your head and tie is securely.

Step 3 & 4:  Using bobby pins, twist the hair that was tied at the bottom to either left or right, and secured it with bobby pins. (including the loose hair strands at the bottom)

Step 5 & 6:  Bring down the rubber band that was tied on the top of your head slightly and move it inwards to your head  as seen in the arrow on picture 5 and secure it with bobby pins. And how the final hairdo looks like from the back is seen in picture 6 ( Btw, please flaten the bump as seen in picture 6 with bobby pins as i did not do that for mine :x ) . And you are done! You have just created your own bob! You can style it with any kind of hair band too.

OTO Mbraze : Does slimming massager really works?

Everyone wants to look their best, especially in terms of looking slim, healthy and tone. I have always been conscious about my weight, and like most girls, i would always try to find the easiest way out ( Yes, i know exercising is the way to go, but i am lazy :P )

During a random day, as i was reading my weekly magazine, i happen to see this advert.

Since mother's day is approaching, I've decided to just type the 60 words essay and submit it to OTO. Hoping that i might have a chance to win a makeover and goodies for my mom. A week later, i receive an email telling me i was shortlisted, and my mom had to use the OTO Mbraze slimming massager for two weeks as it was one of the criteria to stand a chance in being the 6 finalists.

Haha, my mum the "jail bird". So this was the process, and they had to measure her tummy and hip area. And not forgetting her weight too. She had to use this everyday for 3 times. Each time last for 20 minutes ( there is an auto-off mode for 20 minutes to prevent over heating of device)

So how this multi-purpose slimming massager works would be massaging the fats/muscles with two knobs which conduct heat ( the red color light that you can see emitting out of the knobs). The heat is supposed to improve your blood circulation and help "melt" the fats away. Also the knobs would press against the acupuncture point on your tummy to aid digestion and bowel movement.

So whether it works, scroll down to see the results of my mom's tummy and hips measurement.

Wow, we can't believe it. However my mom's weight still maintained the same ( sorry, i had to censor out the weight to protect my mom's privacy :X ).

So it does slim down the body, but does not help you lose weight...hmm, whether is it effective? I am not very sure. Sometimes i just think it is a placebo effect. But my mother's tummy is definitely visibly smaller. I would recommend buying this for slimming rather than investing in slimming pills which might cause health problems in the future. However, this is  pricier option. So be prepared to spend $269 ++.  Anyway, i really do hope my mom gets in to the final 6!! Good luck mom.

DIY: Fishtail Braids

Hey ladies, today's post will be a DIY post on tying a fishtail braid! I am sure some of you are very familiar with this hairstyle, and love the look of it. So today i shall be showing you how to achieve this look! (btw, its alright if your hair isn't long, you will still be able to achieve it)

So let's take a look on how a fishtail braid looks like..

Step 1: Before the braiding, take a comb and brush your hair as smoothly as you can. Divide your hair into two equal portion as seen in picture 1. (This can be done on wet or dry hair)

Step 2: Take a small portion of the outer layer of your hair from the left portion and combine it to the right as seen in picture 2 & 3.

Step 3: Similarly to step 2, take a small portion of the outer layer of your hair from the right portion and combine it to the left as seen in picture 4 & 5. Tighten it by pulling the two portions in opposite direction.

Step 4 : Continue with step 2 and step 3 repetitively , until you reach the length of the fishtail braid that you are satisfied with, and tie it with a band / ribbon.

And there you have it, your own fishtail braid <3 <3.

March Bellabox 2013 - Spring in your Step

Hey all, we are in the midst of March. How time flies and we are already heading to April. So since its the month of March, let's take a look at this month Bellabox.

                             

This month's edition box is the same as the February's edition. It is red, except that there is a sticker of two flowers stuck on the box to represent 'Spring"

So this was what was inside when i open the box. The color of the wrapper is gorgeous. It does give a feeling of spring!  Ok, let's move on to see what products are in it. ( Honestly speaking, i wasn't very pleased with what i have received)

1. Lemongrass House Shower Gel 260ml/$19.25

Description : All natural, eco-friendly massagw oil provides a luxurious out of body experience with gorgeous scents that stimulates the sense. Use it after a hard workout, with a loved one or as a moisturiser right out of the shower.

Why OH WHY!! Of all things, i have to get a bottle of shower gel. I don't need one!! I m happy with my current Johnson and Johnson shower cream. Anyway the packaging of this shower gel doesn't look attractive. It looks like the kind of shower gel which i can find and obtain from a motel or a chalet. But i have yet to try it, so we'll see how it goes.

2. Dr CI : Labo Super Washing Foam Ex 100ml/$47

Description : This special cleanser isn't like any other foam product you've used. The thick lather acts as a cushion that protects skin and an absorption agent that takes in dirt, oil and dead skin, carrying it away as its rinsed off.

OMG! ANOTHER FACIAL WASH PRODUCT! I have been receiving facial wash products from Bellabox every single month. If every of these products are good, then which should i buy? Anyway this brand was named as World's No.1 Medical Cosmetics. But honestly, i have never even heard of this brand. I am rather skeptical about this product.

3.  Dr CI: Labo Aqua- Collagen- Gel Super Moist Ex 50ml / $65 Description:  This unique gel formulation of this moisturiser allows over 120 skin-improving ingredients to be delivered deep down into your pores! Skin is firmed, brightened, smoothed. What more could you ask for. How about pore unclogging action and a barrier of protection against the elements? You got It!.
Yes, another product from the same brand. But the description of this seems very good. Also, over 23 millions jars of this gel have been sold worldwide. This shall be the first product from this month's box that i would try.
 

4. Mox Botanicals Lip Balm $19

Keep your lips as young and fresh as they were when you had your first taste of watermelon-flavoured lip balm. So apparently, this is a cult favorite at Bellabox website. I wonder why? I have not tried this yet, but the smell of it already puts me off as i do not like the smell and taste of coconut. Perhaps i shall give this away.

5. Wonderstruck Enchanted By Taylor Swift 50 ml/ $89 and 100ml/$109 Description:  Inspired by the excitement and blush of a new romance. Taylor Swift's new fragrance envelops you in a feeling of enchantment. This might be many ladies' favorite item for this month's box. However, i do not like floral perfumes. This is more suitable for my sister. But too bad, she is in Australia now  :( This perfume is too strong in floral scent, and has a powdery smell to it. It is too sweet for my liking. Suited for ladies who love perfumes like Ralph Lauren's Romance, Marc Jacob's Daisy, etc.











So overall conclusion for this month's edition of Bellabox. I m quite disappointed with it. I would most probably unsubscribe to it, as the items are getting more and more lousy.  I am tired of receiving facial wash,scrubs,etc and moisturizer. Where are the makeup items and nail polishes?

Melissa 'Makeup' Murphy released before and after photos of 93 porn stars to showcase her body of work.
They reveal the adult movie performers' blotchy skin, oily foreheads, untamed hair and pale complexions - to the shock of some men and praise of many women.
